Class Description

Traditional results in untraditional methods

Learn basic construction for knitting socks beginning at the toe, as well as lots of tips and guidance on knitting socks in general. Class includes introduction to various techniques for seamless toes and turned heels in traditional, ethnic, and eclectic sock styles. A mini­sock will be knit as a practice project. Students will also learn how to plan and make basic toe-to-cuff crew socks in any choice of yarn and size, so they are well on their way to making socks for everyone!

Toe-up socks in any size with any weight yarn

• Prerequisites: Basic knitting skills and some experience using double point needles (or equivalent skill for knitting in the round using one or two longer circular needles).
• Students supply their own yarn and knitting needles.
• Additional student materials fee: $10 per student (includes class workbook).
• Duration: 6 hours.
