These lace medallions are knit in the shape of a leaf. Have fun making them in all sizes and variations. There are many reasons you'll want to make one (or more!) of these, such as a small doily, tasseled bookmark, appliquéd on a sweater or handbag,or just because it is fun to knit!
Size of your leaf will depend on needle and thread used. Guidelines in pattern for anywhere from #30 crochet thread to size 5 pearl cotton. Includes both charted and written instructions.
The picture shows an assortment of sizes and threads. Starting on the left with the tasseled bookmark and proceeding clockwise: DMC Cebelia green size 10 on size 0 US needles. Silk/rayon yarn on size 1 needles. Caron Wildflowers "Ambrosia" on size 2/0. Size 30 crochet thread on size 3/0 needles.
